#Trump calls Kamala Harris an ‘opponent everyone dreams of’ in Twitter burn

President Trump noted Kamala Harris’ failed 2020 presidential run, saying she finished “weak” and adding that she’s a challenger “everyone dreams of!”

“@KamalaHarris started strong in the Democrat Primaries, and finished weak, ultimately fleeing the race with almost zero support. That’s the kind of opponent everyone dreams of!,” Trump wrote on Twitter Wednesday.

The morning tweet came after Joe Biden announced the Democratic senator from California would be his 2020 running mate.

“I have the great honor to announce that I’ve picked @KamalaHarris — a fearless fighter for the little guy, and one of the country’s finest public servants — as my running mate,” Biden said in a tweet Tuesday.

Speaking at the White House shortly after the announcement, Trump said Harris was “my No. 1 draft pick.”

“I was surprised” that Biden picked her “because she did so poorly in the primary race,” he said.

The president then slammed her for her questioning of then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh during his Senate confirmation hearing.

“She was extraordinarily nasty to Kavanaugh, Judge Kavanaugh, now Justice Kavanaugh,” Trump said. “She was nasty to a level that was just a horrible thing the way she was, the way she treated now-Justice Kavanaugh. And I won’t forget that soon.”

Harris, the former California attorney general, dropped her presidential bid last December, citing a lack of funds to continue.

She launched her campaign in Oakland, Calif., the previous January in front of 20,000 supporters.

And while she continued to draw large crowds in Iowa and South Carolina, she was unable to continue the momentum and began falling in the polls.
