“Trigun Stampede Will Have World Premiere at Anime NYC”

The new Trigun anime, Trigun Stampede, will premiere its first episode at Anime NYC courtesy of Crunchyroll.

The episode will be screened during the Trigun Stampede Special panel in New York, which runs from 6 to 7:30 PM on November 18. The panel will be held at Panel Room 1 of Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

The panel also features a Q&A session with creative staff from animation production studio Orange and “exclusive new materials” from the anime. The show is set to premiere in January 2023.

The Trigun manga by Yasuhiro Nightow ran from 1995 to 1997, before being followed up by 1997 to 2007’s Trigun: Maximum. An earlier 26-episode anime series aired in 1998, while an anime movie titled TrigunBadlands Rumble was was released in 2010. Both the series and movie had Satoshi Nishimura as director, Takahiro Yoshimatsu as character designer, and Madhouse as the animation production company. 

Trigun Stampede is directed by Kenji Mutou (Hello World co-storyboarder) with concept artist Kouji Tajima as concept designer and original character designer. Tatsurou Inamoto (One-Punch Man Season 2 scriptwriter), Shin Okashima (Skull-face Bookseller Honda-san), and Yoshihisa Ueda are the series composers and scriptwriters, with novelist Takehito Okishi as story supervisor. 

The show has six character designers, including:

•Koudai Watanabe (“STUDY ME” director and character designer)

•Tetsurou Moronuki (THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS: Spin-off!, Psycho Pass 3: First Inspector action animation director)

Takahiko Abiru (Vinland Saga)

•Akiko Satou (Kimi no Matsu Basho e)

•Takeshi Ninomiya (Fate/Grand Order Final Singularity – Grand Temple of Time Solomon animation director)

Illustrator Yumihiko Amano 

Other staff include Eiji Yamamori (Godzilla Singular Point kaiju designer) as creature designer, Eiji Inumoto (BEASTARS) as CG chief director, Yuuji Kaneko (Ranking of Kings) as art director, Satoshi Hashimoto (Bubble) as color designer, and Takashi Aoki and Ryuuta Koshida as photography directors. 

Meanwhile, the cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Vash the Stampede, Junya Ikeda as Knives Millions, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Young Vash, Yumiri Hanamori as Young Knives, and Maaya Sakamoto as Rem Saverem. 

Trigun was serialized in Tokuma Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Captain magazine, while Trigun: Maximum was serialized in Shounengahousha’s Young King Ours magazine. The original series was initially compiled into three tankoubon volumes, with Shounengahousha later compiling it into two volumes. Trigun: Maximum has 14 tankoubon volumes.
