#Bills survive Rams’ epic rally thanks to controversial penalty

The Los Angeles Rams fell just short of a monster comeback against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon.

After the Rams scored 29 straight points to overcome a 28-3 deficit, a fourth-down pass interference call gave the Bills new life late. Josh Allen’s touchdown pass to Tyler Kroft with 15 seconds left allowed Buffalo to escape with a 35-32 win in Orchard Park.

On a fourth-and-8 at the Rams’ 13, Rams corner Darious Williams was called for a questionable pass-interference penalty on Bills receiver Gabriel Davis. Allen’s pass was incomplete but the flag gave the Bills a first down at the Rams’ 3, and Allen promptly put the Bills ahead.

Stefon Diggs caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from Allen with 8:05 remaining in the third quarter to give Buffalo a 25-point cushion. That was the last Buffalo touchdown for quite some time as the Rams rallied with four straight touchdowns to take the lead with 4:30 remaining.

The crazy comeback gave flashbacks to when the Patriots rallied from a 25-point deficit against the Falcons in Super Bowl LI to complete the largest comeback in Super Bowl history. The game is often known as “28-3” in reference to the Falcons’ blown lead.
