What happens when 12 strangers are stranded on an island and need to fend for themselves? That’s something Treasure Island with Bear Grylls gives us a look at.

We’ve met the strangers, and now it’s time to see how they do after a week with little food. This sneak peek courtesy of Discovery shows that they still have their wits about them, but they’re not afraid to steal food. It’s not from each other, though!

They’re taking food from a python. They can’t take the python itself, but they can take the animal that the python is going to eat. And it’s almost like taking candy from a baby.

In a way, it’s hard not to feel sorry for the snake. This was its meal after all and a group of people have taken it off him. There’s supposed to be enough food on the island for all of them to survive, so did they really need to take this particular piece of meat? It’s definitely something to learn more about in the episode tonight.

While they head out in the wilderness, Grylls makes sure they are ready to at least not starve. But he also wants to protect the wildlife, making sure those that are protected remain alive.

Hunger is going to be the main concern for many of the contestants. They’ll certainly take some risks if they feel the need to survive.
