#Transferred state trooper Granny to Gov. Cuomo: Chill out!

Grandma knows best.

Marianne Pfeiffer, the plucky 95-year-old grandmother of state Trooper Dane Pfeiffer, the gubernatorial bodyguard reportedly dating Cara Kennedy Cuomo, says Gov. Cuomo is being “ridiculous” if he had her “wonderful” grandson transferred from the Executive Mansion to a post near the Canadian border.

And she had this word of advice for the overbearing Albany papa: You can’t veto true love.

The Post reported last month that the hot-headed pol ordered the transfer of the 35-year-old hunk from his security detail in order “to keep him away from” his 25-year-old daughter. “The governor didn’t like whatever they were doing,” said a source familiar with the situation.

But the State Police insisted Pfeiffer requested a “voluntary transfer” in May to Troop B in northeastern New York, where he began his career in 2015.

Grandma Pfeiffer provided no clarity on the transfer, but defended the couple.

“Dane has always been a wonderful, lovely, kind and considerate person,” she said from her home in Lyme, Conn. “Anybody who knows him loves him.”

She called Cara a “wonderful girl,” and said she and her grandson “have a lot in common. They love dogs, the outdoors … She’s got everything Dane likes in a woman.”

Asked what those traits were, Marianne Pfeiffer demured, “I think we have discussed this quite long enough.”

But she added, “Both of them love America and want to do the best they possibly can.”

The feisty Pfeiffer said contrary to news reports, the couple has been an item “for a long time” and even discussed marriage.

“My advice is if they really want to get married, that’s what they should do,” the nonagenarian noted. “They have spoken about it in the past.”

As for the notion that Cuomo banished Dane, she said, “I think he’s being ridiculous because he’s always been a good friend of the family — and a good friend of Dane.

“Sometimes words are used that are not necessarily the same words you would use,” she said. “I’m not sure that whole thing really happened the way [the media] said.”

She added, “I don’t want to comment anymore because it’s only going to make the situation worse.”

Sources said Pfeiffer and Kennedy-Cuomo began dating about eight months ago — after she moved into the mansion in Albany due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Pfeiffer — who has a home in nearby Saratoga Springs — routinely returns to the mansion to pick up Kennedy-Cuomo for dates, which further upsets the governor, a source told The Post.

Perhaps Gov. Cuomo should brush up on his backhand.

The athletic Pfeiffer is a former tennis pro with washboard abs. He played the sport while a student at Skidmore College.

Dane Pfeiffer has declined comment. And he’s not enjoying the headlines, said the grandmother, who spoke to him a few days ago.

“He would have preferred not to see any of it,” she said.
