“Top odds for the anime for the RTLZWEI anniversary

RTLZWEI is celebrating its 30th birthday this Monday and as part of this yesterday showed a special program including 5 hours of anime. We congratulate the broadcaster for good anime ratings in the afternoon…

From 1:20 p.m. the former anime broadcaster RTLZWEI showed the anime classics “Mila Superstar”, “Sailor Moon” and “Dragon Ball” with 4 episodes each throughout the day. This unique comeback will certainly make the Grünwald broadcaster very positive in terms of ratings…

First of all, it should be said that the animes didn’t work particularly well with the general public, as expected. With market shares between 1.3% and 2.0% among viewers aged 3 and over, the bank consistently stayed below the RTLZWEI station average, which was 2.6% on average in the previous year. The maximum attendance was 320,000 people.

However, the strength of the anime does not show itself in the overall audience, but above all in the younger viewers between 14 and 49 years of age and this is where you really turn it up. The station average of RTLZWEI is 4.1% here (basis: full year 2022) and was sometimes far exceeded by every single anime episode of yesterday.

It started at 1:20 p.m. with the first four episodes of “Mila Superstar” in the HD remaster. You reached directly to the first episode starke 5,5% of all TV viewers in the targeted target group, beating the Bollywoord film “In good as in difficult days”, which previously had a market share of 5.0%. The other episodes of “Mila Superstar” were also on a similar level and achieved between 4.6% and 5.5% market share.

However, it was the strongest for “Sailor Moon”. The moonstone flies and wins, because the start brought with very convincing 7.6% market share directly the highest among yesterday’s animes. The other episodes about the warrior for love and justice then got equally good 6.3% to 7.3% market share and were therefore even more successful on the slot than the major broadcasters ProSieben (“Mission: Job Unknown” with 5.0% and “taff weekend” with 4.3% MA) and RTL (“Wau!” with 4.0% MA )! Only ARD and SAT.1 attracted more young viewers here in the afternoon.

“Dragon Ball” performed a little weaker, but still above the station average, from 4:50 p.m. Here they were Market share among young audiences between 14 and 49 years at 4.6% to 5.2%.

The “X-Factor” marathon that followed was less convincing, only getting between 3.2% and 4.0% among young viewers, but was able to shine a little more with the overall audience than the anime did throughout the afternoon.

Overall, the anime event programming for RTLZWEI was a good success, especially with viewers between 14 and 49 years old. However, small weaknesses have been revealed in the overall audience.
