#Kamitsubaki City Under Construction Reveals New Teaser Visual & Video

Kadokawa has revealed a new teaser visual and promo video for the upcoming Kamitsubaki City Under Construction TV anime series. The series is scheduled to premiere in 2025. 

Kodai Kakimoto (BanG Dream! It’s MyGO!!!!! director, Narenare -Cheer for You!-) is directing and writing the screenplay for the series with PALOW (Eve’s “Mob” music video co-concept artist) as character designer. Soki Tsukishima (Ingress the Animation co-series screenwriter and scriptwriter) is credited with the setting’s design, supervision, and original scenario. SMDE is handling the animation production. 

Members of the virtual artist group V.W.P (Virtual Witch Phenomenon) are the main voice cast members, who include:

• • Harusaruhi as Haru Asanushi
• • Isekaijoucho as Sekai Yorukawa
• • KOKO as Koko Rinne

Kamitsubaki City Under Construction was first announced in January 2024 and is part of Kamitsubaki Studio‘s Kamitsubaki City Under Construction mixed-media project that started in 2019. 

The first “story” of the project began with 2021’s month-long alternate reality game Kamitsubaki City Under Construction Emergence. Since then, the setting has been split into multiple world lines with 2021’s Kamitsubaki City Under Construction Divergence project. These alternate worlds will be reflected in three planned media releases: a novel (Kamitsubaki City Under Construction Chronicle), a tabletop RPG (Kamitsubaki City Under Construction Narrative), and a “dark-fantasy sci-fi” visual novel (Kamitsubaki City Regenerate).

The anime takes place in the virtual Kamitsubaki City, which is home to five witches. The project’s story centers on them exploring the hidden mysteries of the virtual city and restoring order and peace.
