#Tomohiro Yamaguchi & Aya Hirano Join Cast of Detectives These Days Are Crazy! TV Anime Series

Voice actors Tomohiro Yamaguchi and Aya Hirano are joining the voice cast for the upcoming Detectives These Days Are Crazy! TV anime adaptation. The anime will begin broadcasting in 2025 and an animation studio has not yet been revealed. 

Yamaguchi will voice the high school detective Yu Asunaro, while Hirano will voice his calm, mysterious little assistant Hana Kazamaki.

They join a main cast headlined by Junichi Suwabe as Keiichiro Nagumo and Kana Hanazawa as Mashiro Nakanishi. 

Rion Kujo (The Legendary Hero Is Dead!, Wanna be the Strongest in the World!) will direct the anime series. The series is also known in Japan as Mattaku Saikin no Tantei Tokitara.  

The original manga series by Masakuni Igarashi began serialization in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh magazine on April 27, 2016 and has released 15 tankobon volumes as of August 2024.

One Peace Books releases the Detectives These Days Are Crazy! manga in English, describing the main synopsis as: 

Behold, a great detective who thrills the world solving impossible cases in no time! His name? Keiichiro Nagumo. … But all of that was over a decade ago. Now he’s just your typical middle-aged dude. Nagumo is behind the times to the point that he doesn’t even know what a smartphone is. But out of the blue, he is confronted by a high school girl named Mashiro who shows up wanting to be his assistant. Witness the miracles a gender-gap detective duo can make!
