The production committee behind the Tokyo Babylon 2021 TV anime announced today that the series will be delayed from its scheduled April 2021 start to an undetermined time. When the first trailer and character information for the upcoming new adaptation of CLAMP's Tokyo Babylon classic manga series was released last month, the production committee was alerted to the fact that the character designs were found to be copied from copyrighted material.
After an internal investigation, the production committee has decided to delay the start of the series to fix the issues, and have "set up a compliance team within the committee to ensure strict compliance with the law."

The previous trailers and materials have been removed from the website and affiliated social media accounts. The production committee for Tokyo Babylon 2021 apologized to CLAMP, everyone involved in the production of the series, and all the people looking forward to the new anime series. The series is animated at GoHands with Shingo Suzuki in the director's chair.
The Tokyo Babylon manga originally ran from 1990 to 1993, set on the backdrop of the decline of the Japanese economy as the bubble era came to a close. It was original licensed in English by TokyoPop, and then later rescued by Dark Horse Comics, who describes the series as such:
It's 1991, the last days of Japan's bubble economy, and money and elegance run through the streets. So do the currents of darkness beneath them, nourishing evil spirits that only the arts of the onmyoji—Japan's legendary occultists—can combat. The two most powerful onmyoji are in the unlikely guises of a handsome young veterinarian, Seishiro, and the teenage heir to the ancient Sumeragi clan, Subaru.
