ToHeart Remake To Drop Demo on June 19

Aquaplus has announced the upcoming launch of a Steam and Nintendo Switch demo for June 26’s ToHeart visual novel remake on June 19 at 12 AM JST.

The demo will feature the “early stages” of the game, with no ability to save progress.

The ToHeart remake gives the “heartful love comedy” a 3D makeover and includes the ability to listen to the original or new voices. It also offers support for English and Chinese (Simplified for the Japan-only Switch release, and both Simplified and Traditional for the Steam version)., in addition to Japanese The premise (via Steam) reads:

Spring is almost here!

Strolling down a street paved with pastel tiles, the sun warms my back as pigeons flock by the roadside. Amid this everyday scenery, it’s another ordinary morning, with just a soft whisper of spring on the wind.

“It’s a little warmer again today, huh?” Akari pipes up as she turns her eyes to me, her bangs swaying gently in the breeze. “I guess winter’s over.”

“I guess it is,” I answer offhandedly, and Akari giggles. I don’t know why.

ToHeart is a “heartful,” heartfelt, and comedic multiple-ending visual novel.
The protagonist is an utterly ordinary young man, but his friends Akari, Masashi, and Shiho make every day a happy one.

As winter turns to spring and March turns to April, the wind also carries a whisper of love.

The original ToHeart visual novel from Leaf (Aquaplus’ adult brand) was first released for PC in 1997 as an 18+ title, with the all-ages version and various PlayStation ports following later. The 1999 PlayStation 1 release introduced the opening song “Feeling Heart,” which is also used in the remake (but now performed by YURIKA instead of Masami Nakatsukasa).

ToHeart inspired a 1999 TV anime, a HD remaster Blu-ray of which will be included in a limited quantity premium edition (for both Switch and Steam). Another ToHeart anime was 2004’s To Heart 〜Remember my Memories〜.
