#Tiz the Law named the favorite for Belmont Stakes

Tiz the Law is officially the Belmont Stakes favorite.

Tiz the Law is officially the favorite and will break for the Belmont Stakes from the No. 8 post position.

The unprecedented first leg of the Triple Crown, set for Saturday at Belmont Park, held its draw on Wednesday and announced Tiz the Law was the 6-5 morning line favorite.

Sole Violante came in at 9-2 with the No. 2 post while Dr. Post — one of Todd Pletcher’s two entries, along with Farmington Road (15-1) — will go from the ninth position with 5-1 odds.

Steve Asmussen is the other trainer with a pair of horses in the field. Jungle Runner has the longest odds at 50-1, coming out of the seventh position, while Pneumatic is 8-1 from the 10th spot.

Tap it to Win — trained by Mark Casse, whose Sir Winston won last year’s Belmont Stakes — drew the unenviable No. 1 post position with 6-1 odds.

Fore Left — trained by Doug O’Neill and ridden by Jose Ortiz — was a late entry to the field, making it a 10-horse race.
