Jessica Lewis, 35, and boyfriend Austin “Cash” Wenner, 27, were found June 19, wrapped in garbage bags and stuffed inside suitcases on a West Seattle shore, authorities said.
Several young people were seen in the TikTok clip stumbling across a black suitcase on a rocky shoreline and laughing before they realize what’s inside.
“Something traumatic happened that changed my life,” TikTok user UghHenry wrote in the caption.
The group contacted 911 about the gruesome find and an investigation was launched into the double murder.
But the video remained on the social media platform, prompting the victims’ relatives to plead for its removal, the BBC reported.
Gina Jaschke, Lewis’ aunt, appealed to the teens after the couple was identified to recognize them as “people.”
“I would’ve thought by then that they would know better to put it down,” Jaschke said. “You know these people have families, these people have children.”
The social media company has said the disturbing footage didn’t violate its guidelines.
But two days after the families’ plea, the video was removed from the platform — though it’s unclear whether the company or the user took it down.
The creator of the video didn’t immediately respond to request for comment, the outlet reported.
