“Three models sue famed saloon”
This dispute is getting Coyote Ugly.
Three models claim the Coyote Ugly Saloon falsely made it appear as if they worked at the famed East Village dive bar to drum up business.
Eva Pepaj, who starred in a Diet Coke ad campaign; swimsuit model Lina Posada; and television personality Dessie Mitcheson, who appeared on “The Amazing Race,” filed a lawsuit last week alleging the gin mill used photos without proper permission to advertise upcoming events.
The lawsuit also claims the photos were altered by the restaurant to make it seem as though the women either worked at or endorsed the club, which they did not.
In one of the photos, Pepaj — whose work includes runway modeling and roles in movies such as “The Hands Off” and “The Romp” — was featured in advertising for a 2016 New Year’s Eve celebration at the bar, the lawsuit claims.
In another social media post, the bar allegedly used a photo of Posada, a Columbian native best known for lingerie and swimsuit modeling, to showcase a 2019 Labor Day event.

A third post from this month features Mitcheson, who was previously featured as the main Tecate Beer ring girl in the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao boxing match in 2015, in an open-backed Santa Claus outfit in a post promoting a Christmas Eve party.
None of the women have ever been hired to do modeling work for the chain, which became famous for women dancing on the bar and became the subject of a 2000 Hollywood movie starring Tyra Banks, Piper Perabo, Maria Bello, Bridget Moynahan and Izabella Miko.
The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages and John Golaszewski, the attorney representing the women, declined to comment on the case.
The chain did not respond to requests for comment.
