In Back to The Future Part II, Biff Tannen’s future self visited him in 1955 with valuable information about upcoming events. He told his younger counterpart to “get a safe” to protect the info. If you ever find yourself in such a situation, you may want to look into the new Yale Smart Safe.

This product from Yale Home features several technological improvements over conventional safes at the same price point. For example, you can control the Smart Safe with the Yale Access app (iOS, Android), the built-in keypad, or a physical key. Additionally, you can unlock your safe with the Yale Access app on an Apple Watch. The app also lets you monitor access history on the app to know exactly when and how your safe has been opened.

This steel-constructed safe comes equipped with powerful anti-theft technology as well. The anti-pry, laser-cut door has two anti-saw bolts and an alarm that sounds when the safe detects tampering or excessive incorrect code attempts. The Smart Safe also features two-layer encryption, two-factor authentication, and the ability to disable the safe if you lose your phone. Plus, you can set up biometric verification for ultimate protection.

If you live in the Apple ecosystem, the Smart Safe will fit perfectly with your other devices. If you have a HomePod or Apple TV, you can use the safe with HomeKit and Siri. Additionally, if you use the Yale Connect Wi-Fi Bridge, you can use the Smart Safe with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. So, you can use all the popular voice assistants to access your valuables.

The Smart Safe measures 11.8 x 13.8 x 9.8-inches, so it’s small enough to fit easily on an end table or under a desk. And it’s spacious enough inside (9.5 x 13.6 x 9.7-inches) to hold whatever smaller-sized valuables you own.

The Yale Home Smart Safe is available now. So, if you do happen to have Gray’s Sports Almanac with you, make sure to avoid weird time travelers named Calvin Klein and crazy-eyed mad scientists driving flying cars until you get one.
