The Witch from Mercury’s Seishun Frontier Manga Begins Serialization

The Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury — Seishun Frontier manga has started serialization on KADOKAWA’s Comic Newtype.

Coloured illustrations of some of the cast were also released, showing off their uniforms in this spin-off title’s setting.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury — Seishun Frontier was announced in December 2024. The manga transplants the characters from the 2022-2023 Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury anime series into Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture (although their school is still called the Asticassia School of Technology).

The premise of the spin-off sees transfer student Suletta becoming acquainted with Miorine, who is from a notable family in the region. To Miorine, who is unable to discover her future goal, Suletta suggests that they work together to come up with a list of things that Miorine wants to do.

HISADAKE (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury setting cooperation) wrote the scenario for the manga, while Hiro Hata (Dogs and the Brave Are Not Showy) is responsible for the art.

The Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury anime series started in October 2022 and ran for two split cours. It was preceded by the episode-long prequel Mobile Suit Gundam the Witch from Mercury PROLOGUE, which premiered in July 2022. The anime introduced the Ad Stella setting to the Gundam franchise and was notable for being the first Gundam anime to have a female protagonist and for having a main yuri couple.

The anime’s premise is described as:

A.S. (Ad Stella) 122―

An era when a multitude of corporations have entered space and built a huge economic system.
A lone girl from the remote planet Mercury transfers to the Asticassia School of Technology,
run by the Beneritt Group which dominates the mobile suit industry.

Her name is Suletta Mercury.
With a scarlet light burning in her pure heart,
this girl walks step by step through a new world.
