Brian Laundrie’s parents won’t be having a traditional funeral for their son, a family attorney confirmed to The Post.

Laundrie will be cremated though there are no plans about what will be done with his ashes once they have been returned to the family, attorney Steve Bertolino said.

Remains of the 23-year-old were recovered in a Florida nature park last week, but a coroner was not able to determine a cause of death.

The remains were mostly bones after days or even weeks of decay — as well as exposure to the elements and wildlife, according to police.

Laundrie’s bones have been sent to an anthropologist for “further evaluation,” Bertolino said. The Laundries have not been contacted by the FBI or local police since they confirmed the remains found in the Carlton Reserve were their son, according to the attorney.

“No contact with (law enforcement) other than being informed of positive ID,” Bertolino said.

A notebook and backpack found near to Laundrie’s remains are still being reviewed. Authorities are reportedly hopeful the notebook is “salvageable,” though it’s not clear if there is anything written inside that could shed light on Laundrie’s final minutes, or on the case of his girlfriend Gabby Petito, who was found dead in a Wyoming park last month.

Petito, 22, had left on a cross-country road trip with Laundrie over the summer, but Laundrie returned to his parents’ Florida home alone on Sept. 1. Petito was reported missing on Sept. 11, and Laundrie disappeared two days later after refusing to cooperate with police.

Local cops now say they had surveillance on Laundrie and saw him leave his parents’ North Port home on Sept. 13. They thought he returned later that day, mistaking his mother in a baseball hat for Brian, officers told the U.S. Sun.

Petito’s remains were found Sept. 19 after the case drew national headlines. Laundrie was a person of interest in Petito’s homicide, though police haven’t accused him of being directly involved in her death.

An arrest warrant was issued for Laundrie for allegedly using Petito’s debit card around the time she disappeared, sparking a massive manhunt for him in Florida and elsewhere.
