#The Undertaker Names His Mount Rushmore of WWE Legends

Every pro wrestling fan is going to have their own opinions on which four legends would be most befitting of representing the “Mount Rushmore of WWE.” Picking just four of the greatest superstars of all time could be a challenge as there are always going to be some excellent performers that have to be left out, no matter who gets selected. The Undertaker, who spent decades wrestling in WWE before recently hanging up the boots, has just weighed in to pick his four selections for the honor.

The reveal came on Kevin Hart’s YouTube show, Cold as Balls, which featured a lengthy conversation between the two. At around the 11-minute mark in the video, Hart says he wants to know the Undertaker’s Mount Rushmore of the WWE, putting the Deadman directly on the spot. After taking a moment to think, Taker delivers four names, and while many fans would definitely put the master of the Tombstone himself on that list, the Undertaker has four other superstars in mind: Andre the Giant, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Shawn Michaels.

These are all obviously very big names in pro wrestling history, and this particular list makes a lot of sense. Andre the Giant was literally one of the biggest wrestlers of all time, and at one point, he was one of the most recognizable figures in the world. Steve Austin is another superstar who deserves tons of credit for helping to make WWE more popular than it’s ever been during the Attitude Era of the 1990s, and he’s even had plenty of excellent matches with the Undertaker during that time period. The Rock really needs no explanation as he went on to conquer Hollywood after first dominating WWE and the pro wrestling business.

Adding Shawn Michaels is an interesting choice, but really when just considering the personal feelings between the wrestlers. No one will deny that HBK is one of the most talented pro wrestlers to ever step foot in a wrestling ring, and you’d find many others insisting on keeping him a part of the Mount Rushmore of WWE. In the past, there had been a certain animosity with Taker and HBK backstage, though the two wrestlers would eventually put on two of WrestleMania’s most acclaimed matches in a row in 2009 and 2010. The Undertaker has since spoken fondly of Michaels and his abilities as a wrestler, telling ITN in May that he thinks “Shawn Michaels probably is the greatest in-ring wrestler of all time.”

The Undertaker himself would be right up there with these other legends in pro wrestling history if you were to ask most any other wrestling fan. His legendary career came to an end last year with a win against AJ Styles at WrestleMania, and now that he’s officially retired, he is sticking with staying out of the ring, recently noting how his body just can’t physically handle what it requires anymore. He considers himself too prideful of his past work to deliver a subpar match to WWE fans, which is what he feels is all he’s capable of at this point in his life.

That doesn’t mean we won’t still see the Undertaker in character. He recently starred in the interactive Netflix special Escape the Undertaker. Chances are he’ll still make the occasional appearance in WWE as well, just not to wrestle. Perhaps he’ll be the headliner at next year’s WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
