#The Ultimate ‘Selling Sunset’ Guide to Dining Around Los Angeles (and Beyond)

If you’ve ever been curious about the dining establishments visited by the agents of Netflix’s hit docusoap Selling Sunset, you’re in for a treat. The Hollywood Reporter has painstakingly made a list of all the show’s restaurants, starting back with season one, all the way up to the newest, season seven, dropped on Nov. 3. (A few places that are missing are the restaurants that didn’t make it through the pandemic and a few mystery locales that don’t give enough clues.)

We all know that Sunset has some of the hottest mansion porn in television and for the past few seasons, the show has also firmly established itself as a fashion voyeur’s obsession. But apart from the lavish real estate, intense outfits, and of course, the agents and the particular brand of drama each of them brings, there’s another thing that has a notable presence on the show — that would be, the restaurants. 

Insta-worthy and busy seem to be the prerequisites for most of the eateries that appear on Selling Sunset. Special occasion celebrations, significant-other intros, gossip fests and clear-the-air chit-chats, usually take place at a dining hotspot with tons of aesthetic appeal and customers milling in the background, many in or around West Hollywood, home to the headquarters of the Oppenheim Group. There are many aspects of the show that resonate with viewers, but Los Angeles’ gorgeous, buzzing restaurants are a key component to building the allure of the agents and the show.

“I really make a point with the showrunners and the producers to get my favorite [restaurants] on the show,” says Selling Sunset star and Oppenheim Group founder Jason Oppenheim. “It makes sense that, if we’d go there, let’s film there.” (He recently revealed to THR that the show has been renewed for season 8.)

Lavo: Coastal Italian restaurant from Tao Group. “We filmed a girls’ dinner at Lavo. It’s a fabulous L.A. restaurant where I love to go,” Emma Hernan tells THR. “We actually went there to celebrate Chrishell’s and Mary’s birthdays this year — off camera — so it is definitely a good place to visit if fans of the Selling Sunset want to run into us!” 9201 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood

Beverly Wilshire Beverly Hills Hotel: Chelsea Lakzani celebrated her 30th birthday with a masquerade-themed party inside a suite at this Four Seasons property. “Another favorite place from this season was at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills that was of course made so famous by Pretty Woman!” says Hernan. “We filmed in a beautiful suite, and I loved helping Chelsea organize and celebrate her Dirty 30! I often go to the hotel for lunch or dinner, it is just a classic Los Angeles hotspot that’s always special to visit.” 9500 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills

Cara Restaurant: The outdoor spaces at the Cara Restaurant — inside the Cara Hotel — are simple elegance at its finest. Have breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner among the olive trees and palms in the courtyard and patios. Vibes here are definitely romantic Mediterranean. Crustacean: A southern California institution. The family-run, Vietnamese fusion restaurant has been around since 1991, with chef Helene An, the matriarch of the business, opening the Beverly Hills location in 1995. The spot even has its own secret entrance for celebrities. Lakzani and her husband seem to be regulars. Get the whimsical tuna cigars like they did, and order her cocktail “Daughter of the Dragon” for a bit of spice from the Thai chili-infused vodka. 468 N. Bedford Drive, Beverly Hills

Holy Roly Ice Cream: Holy Roly is a cute, Insta-ready ice cream “boutique” that chops, mixes, flattens and rolls your ice cream. They get really creative with their toppings and all base ingredients are fully organic and non-GMO, too. E.P. & L.P.: The rooftop at E.P. & L.P. makes multiple appearances over the seasons. There’s even “Dinner and a movie” nights where guests get served their modern Mexican fare while sitting on a bean bag, taking in a movie and the night sky. Ocean Prime: Along with another appearance by E.P. & L.P., Ocean Prime pops up in this episode — one of the multiple times it’s seen on the series. The modern seafood and steakhouse establishment sits a block from Rodeo Drive. It’s the place where Lakzani and her husband wined and dined Oppenheim and Mary Fitzgerald when she was vying for a desk at the O-Group office. Moon Juice: L.A. shop serving juices, tonics and shots including the Dirt Shot with reishi, chaga, cordyceps and coconut milk.
