Plumber Mario is getting a new movie and now the first trailer is here!

Since the 1980s, the adventures of the «Mario Bros.» on different game consoles. Gamers all over the world know the red-hat plumber with dungarees Mario and his friends. For this reason closed Nintendo with the animation studio Illumination («Pets», «Minions») together. Together they are bringing a new animated feature film to international cinema screens.

There was one back in 1986 Animefilm, which was only released in Japan. In 1993 the second feature film for “Super Mario Bros.” was released, but this time in the form of an unsuccessful live-action adaptation from the USA. This is now the third attempt at a successful film.

«There Super Mario Bros. Movie” will be launched in the United States on April 7, 2023 and in Japan on April 28, 2023. Of the German-language theatrical release is already for the March 23, 2023 intended. Five to six months before the start, Nintendo has now shared more information about the cinema adventure and the first teaser trailer in a special Nintendo Direct.

The first talks between «Mario» inventor Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri took place 7 years ago. This is how the idea for this «Mario» film developed. Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic have been chosen to direct the film, with Matthew Fogel directing the script. The first teaser trailer introduces the villain, Bowser, and the story’s hero, Mario. Toad, Kamek and other well-known characters from the “Mario” universe can also be seen in the teaser.

The German trailer stars Tobias Meister as Bowser, Axel Malzacher as Penguin King, Leonhard Mahlich as Mario and Dirk Petrick as Toad.
