#The Slime Diaries Anime Reveals 2nd Key Visual and April 6 Premiere Date

The official website for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime novel series revealed the second promotional video (restricted to Japan), second key visual, and April 6 premiere date for the upcoming TV anime of Shiba’s spinoff manga The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura Nikki Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken). The video features Akane Kumada’s theme song, “Brand new diary.” The anime was previously set to premiere in January but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The anime’s staff includes Yuji Ikuhara (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as director, Tsutomu Kasai (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) as assistant director, Kotatsumikan as script supervisor, Risa Takai (Time Bokan: The Villains Strike Back) and Atsushi Irie (Steamboy, Freedom) as character designers, Ayumi Satō (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2) as art director, and Maki Saitou (Yu-Gi-Oh) as color key artist. Chiptune (Akudama Drive) will handle the compositing and photography, and RON (FLCL Progressive, FLCL Alternative) will serve as the music composer. The animation production will be from Studio 8-Bit.

The anime’s returning cast from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime includes Miho Okasaki as Rimuru, Makoto Furukawa as Benimaru, Sayaka Senbongi as Shuna, M.A.O as Shion, Takuya Eguchi as Sōei, Houchu Ohtsuka as Hakurō, Junichi Yanagita as Kurobee, Kanehira Yamamoto as Rigurdo, Asuna Tomari as Gobuta, Chikahiro Kobayashi as Ranga, Tarô Yamaguchi as Geld, Jun Fukushima as Gabiru, Rumi Okubo as Soka, Rie Tanaka as Trainee.

Vertical is releasing The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime manga in English and describes the manga’s story as:

“Dear diary… I got reincarnated as a slime.”
