#The Series Starts Streaming on March 20

The newly opened website for Sand Land: The Series has revealed that the show will debut on Disney+ on March 20 worldwide.

According to Oricon News, the first seven episodes of the show will drop together on that day. The remaining episodes will be released weekly.

Sand Land: The Series is a slightly altered version of the Sand Land movie that was released in August 2023 in Japan. It is described as including cuts that couldn’t be included previously, “famous scenes” from the manga, and fresh story material that take place after the film.

Sand Land is based on the 2000 manga by Dragon Ball‘s Akira Toriyama. It ran for 14 chapters in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump and is collected into a single volume. Viz Media describes the post-apocalyptic manga as:

In the far future, war has destroyed the entire Earth, leaving only a barren wasteland where the supply of water is controlled by the greedy king. In search of a long-lost lake, Sheriff Rao asked the king of the demons for help…and got the king’s son, Beelzebub, and his assistant, Thief. Together the unlikely trio sets off across the desert, facing dragons, bandits and the deadliest foe of all… the King’s army itself! It’s travel adventure and tank action in this new story from Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball Z!

The manga has also inspired a video game, which is coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam on April 26.
