We recently reported on the series in a personal review «The Rising of the Shield Hero». We were also really looking forward to the start of the second season in autumn this year. Now was on the official Twitter account announced that the series will be postponed to April 2022 due to various circumstances.

The second season of the series is created in Studi Kinema Citrus und DR MOVIE directed by Masato Jinbo. Kevin Penkun is again responsible for character design.

The Swiss publisher CASSETTE has commissioned Oxygen Sound Studios with the German implementation. Birte Baumgardt is responsible for the dialogue book and the dubbing.

Just a moment ago, student Naofumi was absorbed in the book “The Chronicle of the Four Sacred Weapons” in the library. But the next moment he wakes up in a world that is completely unknown to him. However, he did not come to Melromarc, as the inhabitants call the kingdom, alone. Three other comrades-in-arms were summoned here through an ancient ritual. As the four holy heroes, armed with shield, sword, spear and bow, they are supposed to fight against ominous waves and thus save the country from its downfall. Easier said than done, because Naofumi of all people got the shield, which has no attack power. What’s more, after an overheard conversation, Naofumi’s reputation as a hero bringing salvation looks rather bad. Not a good start for the adventure of a lifetime …
