“The Philippines To Get One Piece Film Red Fan Screenings on September 17 and 18”

The Philippines will have fan screenings for One Piece Film Red on September 17 and 18 at SM Megamall.

Tickets for the September 17 fan screening will cost PHP3250 (~US$58.42) each, with the novelties including an acrylic stand featuring 10 characters, a T-shirt, two random Japan Import Character Card Sets, an A2 size Poster A, and an A2 size Poster B. There will also be three Hologram Can Badges, which feature Sunny, Uta, and Shanks respectively.

Meanwhile, the September 18 fan screening costs PHP1650 (~US$29.66) per ticket and features largely the same novelties as the earlier screening, but minus the acrylic stand and with one less Japan Import Character Card Set.

One Piece Film Red was released in Japan on August 6, with debut weekend gross amounting to over 2.25 billion yen (~US$16.68 million). It features the new character Uta (Kaori Nazuka; singing voice Ado), a diva who is Shank’s daughter. Multiple animated music videos have been released for the character’s songs from the Uta no Uta One Piece Film Red album

The premise is described as:

Uta — the most beloved singer in the world. Her voice, which she sings with while concealing her true identity, has been described as “otherworldly.” She will appear in public for the first time at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans — excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance — the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is “Shanks’ daughter.”

The movie is directed by Gorou Taniguchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;SurrectionOne Piece: Taose! Kaizoku Gyanzakku) with a script from Tsutomu Kuroiwa (One Piece Film: Gold, GANTZ:O). One Piece mangaka Eiichiro Oda is the general producer and original story creator.

Other staff include Masayuki Satou (One Piece Film Strong World character designer and animation director) as character designer and chief animation director, Hiroshi Katou (Mars Red co-art director) as art director, Sayoko Yokoyama (One Piece “WE ARE ONE” 100 volumes and 1000 episodes commemoration video) as color designer, and Ema Tsunetaka (Megalo Box 2: Nomad) as photography director.
