“Apple TV+ Welcomes Ken Jeong to The Afterparty Season 2”
The first season takes place at a high school reunion afterparty where a murder has occurred. Each episode retells the story of the same night through the perspective of different characters, while utilizing different visual styles. The season one cast included Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation), Ilana Glazer (Broad City) and Dave Franco (The Disaster Artist).
The Afterparty was created by Chris Miller, who serves as executive producer alongside fellow Oscar Winner Phil Lord, under Lord Miller, their joint production banner. Aubrey Lee, SVP of Television for Lord Miller, is also a show producer. Miller and Lee are currently working on a Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel and Project Hail Mary, starring Ryan Gosling. The two wrote and directed the 2009 animated film Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and won the 2019 Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
The Afterparty won’t be Jeong’s first appearance in a murder mystery, as he served as a detective on the last episode of Netflix’s Murderville. Starring Will Arnett, Murderville also offered a comedic take on the murder mystery genre. Jeong can be seen in Netflix’s new film The Penatevarte with Mike Myers. He is most notably known for his performances as Ben Chang in Community, Leslie Chow in The Hangover films, and most recently, as Goh Wye Mun in Crazy Rich Asians. He is also a judge on Fox’s The Masked Singer.
