Netflix and WIT Studio will release a remake of the anime adaptation with “The One Piece”!

There was a big announcement for Pirate fans at this year’s JUMP FESTA. The adventures of Luffy and his crew are getting an anime remake!

After the live-action adaptation of the Eastblue Saga was so successful (2nd season ordered), Netflix will present this saga again. Together with the renowned WIT Studio («Vinland Saga», «SPY x FAMILY», «Attack on Titan») wird Netflix die Anime remake with the title «The One Piece» offer exclusively worldwide.
The Production Committee of the new edition, consists of representatives from Shueisha, Fuji TV and Toei Animation, who enable the production at WIT Studio for Netflix. Netflix speaks of “innovative visual technology” used for this anime adaptation. An exact start date has not yet been announced.

An adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s earlier work “Monsters” (1994) was announced by Netflix for January 2024. In «Monsters 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation» it’s about the samurai Ryuma, who has the same name as a character from “One Piece”. Even though many refer to this work as a prequel, “Monsters” only served as a precursor or inspiration for the later pirate epic.
