Diary of disturbing disinformation and dangerous delusions:

SPOT THE DIFFERENCE:

We say: The original headline — naked clickbait for the left, later changed — outraged many, thanks to author Michelle Goldberg’s blatant politicization of anti-Semitism, something that should be vile to everyone, regardless of partisan persuasion.

THIS TWEET:

We say: New York Times COVID reporter Apoorva Mandavilli plainly thinks investigators shouldn’t see if the coronavirus escaped from a lab in Wuhan, China, as that would somehow be . . . “racist.” Huh? It’s vital to figure out the virus’ origins — especially when so much circumstantial evidence suggests it did come from a Wuhan lab. She later deleted her tweet, but this is the kind of thinking that makes some absolutely vital news at the Gray Lady unfit to print.

— The Boston Globe, May 21, 2021

We say: You couldn’t pack more lies into a cartoon than this one did in The Boston Globe. Never mind that Israel sent no ground forces (let alone tanks!) into Gaza in the recent conflict. And went out of its way to avoid harming civilians, even as Hamas targeted them. The claim that Jerusalem’s building its state “on top” of Palestinians is a vile smear with no basis in reality. In fact, Israel evicted Jews from Gaza in ’05 and hasn’t had a presence there since. Nor does it take land from Palestinians anywhere. And Palestinian leaders could’ve accepted several offers for their own state (in 1947, 2000, 2008 . . .) if they really wanted it.

We say: By claiming that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis fudged his state’s COVID data, Rebekah Jones won huge recognition from the left — and this Forbes award. Exposés have since shown definitively that she made up the entire story. Yet Forbes hasn’t rescinded the honor.

THIS QUOTE:

“This is the Justice Department now, under Merrick Garland as attorney general, bending over backwards . . .  to paper over . . . what Barr did to protect Trump.”

Rachel Maddow, MSNBC, May 26, 2021

We say: Rachel Maddow still can’t get over the fact that the Mueller report cleared President Donald Trump of collusion. She so wants to find some grounds to charge Trump with a crime, she can’t believe President Biden’s liberal AG, Merrick Garland, would oppose releasing an internal DOJ memo on the agency’s decision, under then-AG Bill Barr, not to recommend obstruction-of-justice charges. Please: The idea that Garland is somehow trying to protect Barr or the ex-prez is beyond unhinged. Move on, Rachel.
