But those numbers were incredible. Aaron, who passed away Friday at the age of 86, was one of the most feared hitters in baseball during his 23-year Hall of Fame career.

6,856 Total Bases — the most ever

1,477 Extra-base Hits — the most ever

21 Seasons as an All-Star — the most ever (25 selections overall, since MLB used to have two games per season)

755 Home Runs — the 2nd-most ever (Barry Bonds)

3,771 Hits — the 3rd-most ever (Pete Rose, Ty Cobb)

3,016 Hits without any home runs

97.8 Hall of Fame percentage, exceeded by only eight players ever. At the time he was elected in 1982, only Ty Cobb had ever gotten a higher percentage.
