Start spreadin’ the news. The Yankees may not make the postseason. Injuries have caught up with them and now they can’t even count on a healthy Gerrit Cole. They dropped three of four in Baltimore over the weekend, dropping them into third place behind the Blue Jays prior to Monday night’s series opener in Buffalo. J.A. Happ (1-1, 4.68 ERA) reloads after the Mets blew him up for four runs over five innings last out. He was stellar two starts back, shutting out the same Mets for 7 ¹/₃ innings, scattering three hits. Toronto, if that is what they are still called, goes with Taijuan Walker (3-2, 3.26 ERA). Walker has been dependable. Took a no-decision at Fenway in his latest start, allowing two runs over 5 ²/₃. History shows he’s 0-2 lifetime against the Yanks. Days are dwindling. Believing Jdot Adot will step up, we’ll back the desperate Yankees for 20 units.
National Holiday. Max Scherzer pitched a seven-inning shutout and the Nats ripped the Rays 6-1. Picked Washington on the right night. Down -473 timfolis.
