#The Latest Razer Naga Mouse Crams 12 Thumb Buttons into Just 85 Grams – Review Geek

Razer’s Naga mice are all about offering a huge amount of thumb buttons, the better to use when you’re questing in an MMO or using a ton of skills in a MOBA. The mouse comes in many flavors, but the new Naga X is the lightest yet at just 85 grams. That’s a 22% savings in weight over the previous wired model.

Elsewhere, the Naga X is fairly familiar if you’ve ever seen one of the other Naga mice: it uses twelve programmable thumb buttons, plus the usual left, right, and clickwheel, and a dedicated DPI switch. All of them can be rebound to different keys or macros in Razer’s Synapse software, and you can extend it to even more bindings with the “hypershift” function. Different profiles can activate automatically for different games (or desktop programs—I love using gaming software for Photoshop functions). Presumably to save on weight, this mouse foregoes the swappable side buttons that the Naga Trinity and wireless Naga Pro use. Razer claims it’s 40% lighter than the Naga Trinity.

The Naga X uses Razer’s 18000DPI optical sensor, second-gen optical switches, and PTFE mouse feet. It’s far from the lightest mouse on the market—ultra-thin honeycomb shells can get them down to around the 50 gram range. But it’s easily the lightest I’ve seen with an MMO button configuration. The Naga X is available on Razer’s site now for $80, and should pop up at the usual retail suspects soon.
