Joe Kelly’s pouting face is bringing smiles to Los Angeles.
The Dodgers relief pitcher, who became a fan favorite after throwing at multiple Astros in a game early this season, has been honored in the Silver Lake neighborhood with a 16-foot mural of Kelly’s facial expression, mocking Carlos Correa during the July 28 game.
Kelly, who is currently on the injured list and won’t be available to pitch this weekend against the visiting Astros, visited the barbershop wall in the Silver Lake neighborhood, where his likeness resides less than two miles from Dodger Stadium.
Kelly even re-enacted the now famous pose.
“Wanted to make sure I got this one done before the Astros come to town,” artist Jonas Never wrote on social media.
Though Kelly wasn’t on the Dodgers when L.A. and Houston met in the 2017 World Series, the relief pitcher still made a stance for his teammates and fans, still seething from the Astros’ sign-stealing scandal, which likely played a part in robbing the Dodgers of their first championship since 1988.

Kelly, who threw pitches near the heads of Alex Bregman and Correa, cursed at Houston’s dugout, leading to both benches clearing. Kelly was suspended for eight games, though it was reduced to five on appeal. Kelly is set to serve the suspension when he returns from the injured list.
