The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls U149 anime adaptation is set to make its debut in 2023. A teaser visual and trailer previewing the main characters have been released in addition to the release date announcement.

Announced in April, The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls U149 will follow a group of under-149cm idols and their new, short and young producer. Cygames Pictures is the animation production company. 

The original manga by Kyow No, a spin-off of The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, began in 2016 and has 10 tankoubon volumes as of April 2022. It is serialized on Cygames’ Cycomi app and published by Kodansha under the Cycomi label.

Bandai Namco Entertainment’s The Idolmaster (stylized as THE iDOLM@STER) multimedia franchise begin with a 2005 arcade game that was ported to the Xbox 360 in 2007. It has since spawned multiple other games as well as anime, with the latter including series like 2007’s Idolmaster: Xenoglossia, 2011’s The Idolmaster, 2015’s The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, 2017’s The Idolmaster SideM, and the upcoming The Idolmaster Million Live!, which is also set to premiere in Japan in 2023. The franchise has also inspired radio shows, drama CDs, soundtrack releases, and print media.
