#The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! Anime Will Air from July 31

The official website for the anime adaptation of Wakame Konbu’s The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! (Jahy-sama wa Kujikenai!) comedy manga series has revealed that the TV anime will air from July 31 and will run for a total of two cours. The website also revealed the cast and staff.

The newly revealed cast members include Naomi Ohzora as Jahy-sama, Ai Kayano as the Store Manager, Yoko Hikasa as the Landlady, Kana Hanazawa as Druj, Mikako Komatsu as Saurva, Sumire Uesaka as Magical Girl, and Yui Ogura as Kokoro.

Mirai Minato (Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense, Masamune-kun no Revenge) is directing the anime, with Michiko Yokote (Heaven’s Design Team, SHIROBAKO: The Movie) behind the series composition, Saori Nakashiki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable animation director [nine episodes]) as character designer and chief animation director, Kōji Fujimoto (from Sus4 Inc.) and Osamu Sasaki as music composers, and SILVER LINK (Kokoro Connect, Strike the Blood, Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu) as the animation production studio.

It was also revealed that Ogura will be performing the opening theme “Fightin★Pose” for the first cour of the anime series.

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! manga has been serialized in Square Enix’s shōnen manga magazine Monthly Gangan Joker since August 2017, and its chapters have been collected into six tankōbon volumes as of April 2020. In North America, the manga is licensed for English release by Square Enix Manga & Books.

Puny and powerless after an unfortunate encounter with a magical girl, the Dark Realm’s Number Two has her work cut out for her in the world of humans!

The Great Jahy, the Dark Realm’s second-in-command, cuts a frightening figure, feared and revered by all. But when a run-in with a magical girl results in the destruction of the precious mana crystal, the Dark Realm falls, transporting the newly puny and powerless Jahy to the human world! Unfortunately, plotting the revival of the Dark Realm from a cramped, crumbling one-room apartment is no easy feat when you have rent to pay and a job to keep!
