The epic fight between Mori and Ilpyo continues in The God of High School.
In his battle with Mori, Ilpyo unleashes the charyeok Nine-Tails and awakens as the Key. Mori uses his Blue Dragon Tempest, but Ilpyo stops it easily. The difference in strength between them seems clear, but then, energy suddenly surges forth from Mori’s body… (synopsis via Crunchyroll)
The friendly rivalry between Mori and Ilpyo felt very relatable, which was something else I wish I could have seen more.
Yeah, I liked the scene from previous episodes where they were casually sizing each other up.
The continuation of Mori and Ilpyo’s battle was a great start to the episode, picking up from the best parts of the past couple weeks.
As for the rest of the episode… I didn’t think it was possible for me to get more lost, but here I am. Now if only someone could tell me where “here” is.
The demon thing was unnecessary to the narrative and totally out of left field.
I thought that guy died like forever ago in one of the ending scenes. What was the point?
I understand why it was there: to drive key players, no pun intended. But there was a severe lack of narrative connection in the anime.
I’m not surprised, just a little disappointed.
Sadly I agree, but at least we got pretty fights.
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the big fight outside.
All those audience members gotta carefully step over the bodies of the cultists while they exit in an orderly fashion.
At least the Commissioners were doing their best to clean up.
Either way, fantastic animation as usual and the expected plot progression. Let’s see how the final two episodes will wrap up the show.
