House Speaker Nancy Pelosi railed against President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in her Democratic convention speech on Wednesday — accusing them of standing in the way of America’s progress.

“As Speaker, I’ve seen firsthand Donald Trump’s disrespect for facts, for working families, and for women in particular — disrespect written into his policies toward our health and our rights, not just his conduct,” Pelosi (D. Calif) said.

The Baltimore-born lawmaker, 80, accused Trump and McConnell (R. Ky) of squashing House Democrats’ plans for LGBTQ equality, gun control and environmental protections but vowed to continue her takeover of the House in November.

“We must come together now, not to decry the darkness, but to light a way forward for our country,” she said.

The San Francisco Democrat and two-term speaker, 80, and President Trump have a bitter relationship which boiled over when the speaker dramatically tore up a copy of his speech after his State of the Union address in February.

The pair have not spoken in over 10 months after Pelosi walked out of a White House meeting with Trump last October when he called her a “third rate politician,” according to a CNN report published last week.

The two are currently at loggerheads over the fourth wave of coronavirus stimulus. Trump has railed against the stalemate on Twitter, calling Pelosi by his favorite schoolyard taunt “Crazy Nancy.”

Pelosi used her convention speech to push her $3 trillion coronavirus package, calling it “serious, science-based action.”

Pelosi and Biden have a decades-long friendship. However, the speaker still waited until February to endorse him as the party coalesced around the former veep’s zombie campaign to stop Bernie Sanders.

On Wednesday evening, the powerful leader of the House described Biden as “someone who’s heart is full of love for America”

“Joe Biden is the President we need right now: battle-tested, forward-looking, honest and authentic. He has never forgotten where he comes from and who he fights for,” she said.

Pelosi was lauded in a video at the all-virtual convention which depicted her as a trailblazer and feminist who became an example to women everywhere when she was elected the first female House Speaker.
