#The Dungeon of Black Company Arrives July 9, Has New Trailer

A July 9 premiere date has been revealed for upcoming anime The Dungeon of Black Company (Meikyū Black Company). The isekai anime also received a new trailer that previews the ending song “World is Mine” by Humbreaders.

An earlier trailer came with an announcement of the show’s July release window and a preview of opening song “Shimi” (“Stain”) by Howl Be Quiet. 

The staff of The Dungeon of Black Company includes Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun’s Revenge, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya) as director, Deko Akao (Snow White with the Red Hair, Noragami) as script supervisor, Yuki Sawairi (Masamune-kun’s Revenge, Wise Man’s Grandchild) as character designer, Natsumi Hirama (Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense) as color designer, Atsushi Satō as photography director, and Taku Inoue (The Idolmaster) as music composer. Silver Link is in charge of the animation production.

The cast includes Katsuyuki Konishi (Akame ga Kill!) as Kinji Ninomiya, Misaki Kuno (Log Horizon) as Rim, Hiro Shimono (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Wanibe, Satomi Satō as Belza, Wataru Takagi as Boss Goblin, Megumi Toda as Shia, M.A.O as Ranga, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Dungeon Ant A. 

The Dungeon of Black Company is based on the manga by Yōhei Yasumura, which began in 2016 and has six tankōbon volumes as of July 2020.

Seven Seas describes the manga as:

Kinji, who lacks any kind of work ethic, is a layabout in his modern life. One day, he finds himself transported to another world–but not in a grand fantasy of a hero welcomed with open arms. He’s immediately shoved into a terrible job! Now enslaved by an evil mining company in a fantasy world, Kinji’s about to really learn the meaning of hard work!
