#The Dawn of the Witch Light Novels Get Anime Adaptation
The Dawn of the Witch light novel series will be adapted into a TV anime adaptation. Series author Kakeru Kobashiri tweeted about the news ahead of the May 6 release of the series’ third volume, which will contain an announcement for the anime adaptation on its obi strip.

Kodansha, which publishes the manga in English, describes The Dawn of the Witch as a sequel to Kobashiri‘s Grimoire of Zero light novels.

The series began in 2018 and spawned a manga adaptation in 2020, with the manga series having three tankoubon volumes at the time of writing. Takashi Iwasaki drew the illustrations of the light novels, while the manga is drawn by Tatsuwo.

Kodansha describes the manga as:

Cervil is a magic student with no memories of his life before he met a mysterious blond woman in an alley. Now he travels with his teacher, Ross—another student, Holt, and the beastman Coudeau for “special training”… but this field trip may not be as routine as it seems!

Grimoire of Zero, which ran from 2014 to 2017 with 11 volumes, inspired its own anime adaptation in 2017, with White Fox in charge of the animation production.

Amazon describes the Grimoire of Zero anime as:

When a half-beast mercenary teams up with a witch who is in search of a magical tome that can destroy the world, a grand adventure ensues. Despite his hatred of witches, he enters an agreement that she will make him human once she reaches her goal.
