1. My Dress-Up Darling

Why is?

Wakana’s wish is to grow up to be a kishirashi like his grandpa – a master maker of traditional Japanese hina dolls. Although enthusiastic about the craft, he doesn’t know the faintest thing about the latest fashion trends and finds it difficult to contribute to his class. His popular classmates, above all the girl Marin, seem to live in a completely different world. That changes one day when she tells him about her secret hobby of cosplay and their completely different worlds collide.

2. Lycrois Recoil

Peace reigns thanks to a secret organization made up of all girls called Lycoris. The elite, free-spirited Chisato is the most powerful agent of all time, and together with the cool, talented, but mysterious Takina, they form a near-perfect duo. Working together at a coffee shop, they not only handle ordinary orders like coffee, candy, and nightly pickups, but also take on eccentric assignments like zombie slaying and dealing with giant monsters.

Lycoris Recoil scores with a sophisticated espionage story and fantastically animated action sequences. The real highlight of the series, however, is the honest friendship between the unequal agents Chisato and Takina. These complement each other perfectly in the course of the twisted plot and turn out to be a genuine dream duo. Especially fans of series like Gunslinger Girl and Black Bullet should not miss the agent drama.

3.Chainsaw Man

Why is?

Denji lives in abject poverty with his only friend: a chainsaw devil named Pochita. His father left him with a huge mountain of debt and since then Denji has been swinging from one low point to the next. Together with Pochita, he hunts down devils in order to pay off his excessive debt and lead a normal life. Luck isn’t kind to him and so one day Denji is betrayed and stabbed in the back. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and is resurrected as “Chainsaw Man” – a man with a devil’s heart.

Or the immense attention to detail in the character drawing and the action sequences. Above all, however, Tatsuki Fujimoto’s adaptation reflects the otherness, the peculiarity of this medium. Anime has long since freed itself from its niche existence. Chainsaw Man is living proof.
