1. Bocchi The Rock

Why is?

High school student Hitori Gotou is learning to play the guitar because she dreams of being in a real band! However, she is shy and hasn’t found a single boyfriend yet. However, after meeting Nijika Ijichi, her dream seems within reach as Nijika can play the drums and is looking for a new guitarist for her band.

Ready, set, rock! Bocchi The Rock from CloverWorks is definitely the surprise hit of the current season. The story of the shy Hitori who joins a band took the hearts of anime fans by storm. Rightly so, because the anime scores with a sympathetically told slice-of-life story, a splendid voice cast and catchy songs. Despite all the light-footedness, the series doesn’t fail to illuminate the dark side of the musician’s life, which gives the anime an additional realistic touch. Bocchi the Rock combines a well told story with deeply likeable characters and a good portion of rock. So not only fans of slice-of-life and music anime should take a look.

2. Blue Lock

Why is?

After the disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team is struggling to regroup. But what is missing? An absolute ace forward who can lead them to victory. The Japan Football Association is determined to create a goal-hungry, victory-hungry striker who can be the crucial tool to turn a losing game around… and to do this they have assembled 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players.

Who will lead the team… and will they be able to use their brawn and ego to beat anyone who gets in their way?

This year’s World Cup in Qatar found a deserved winner in Argentina (and Lionel Messi). However, Yusuke Nomura’s manga adaptation caused a lot of soccer fever in advance Blue Lock. The idea of embedding the ubiquitous battle royale genre into a soccer setting is as imaginative as it is effective. As a result, Blue Lock gives the very repetitive and shadowy genre a fresh coat of paint. 3. Spy x Family

Why is?

Spy Twilight faces his most difficult mission yet: to obtain compromising material about a high-ranking politician. This lives very withdrawn and Twilight has no choice but to approach him through his son and his private school. As if maintaining the appearance of an elite family wasn’t difficult enough, he unknowingly chooses a professional assassin for his wife and a telepath for his adopted daughter. Can the three manage their life as a make-believe family without finding out about each other?

Anyone who followed the anime year closely will not die sooner or later Spy x Family to have been around. Probably the most sympathetic blended family of all time was definitely one of the anime highlights in 2022. The stories about the spy Twilight, the hitman Yor and the telepathic gifted Anya are just bursting with charm and good humor. 4. Cyberpunk Edgerunners

Why is?

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a standalone story about a street kid trying to survive in a future city obsessed with technology and body modification. Because he could lose everything, he decides to become an Edgerunner — a lawless mercenary also known as a cyberpunk.

CD Projekt Red’s “Cyberpunk 2077” had an extremely messed up start, no question. However, several months have passed since the game was released and the futuristic role-playing game is now enjoying great popularity again. One reason for this is certainly Studio Trigger’s twelve-part anime offshoot. It convinces primarily with its raw staging and attention to detail.
