“The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten Shares “Otsukimi” Key Visual”

A special key visual and trailer has been released for the upcoming The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten. They are centered around the theme of “otsukimi,” which roughly translates to “autumn moon viewing” in Japanese. The anime series is set to premiere sometime in 2023. 

The series has previously released visuals focused on “Mahiru to Umi” and the Tanabata festival

The main production staff includes Kenichi Imaizumi (Kingdom Season 3, After School Dice Club) as director, Keiichirou Oochi (Girlfriend, Girlfriend) as series screenwriter, Takayuki Noguchi (Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway) as character designer, and Moe Hyuga (If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die) as music composer. Project No.9 is in charge of the animation production.

Meanwhile, the voice cast consists of Taito Ban as Amane Fujimiya, Manaka Iwami as Mahiru, Taku Yashiro as Itsuki Akasawa, and Haruka Shiraishi as Chitose Shirakawa.

The light novels are written by Saeki-san and are currently illustrated by Hanekoto, who took over for original artist Hazano Kazutake from the second volume onwards. It began publication from SB Creative on June 15, 2019 under the GA Bunko label. Six physical volumes have been released so far, with a seventh to be released on September 14, 2022. A short story collection has also been released on January 14, 2022. 

Square Enix published a manga adaptation of the light novels on Janaury 6, 2022, with new illustrations by Wan Shibata

Yen Press releases the light novels in English for North America. The synopsis is described as:

A HEAVENLY ENCOUNTER!

Mahiru is a beautiful girl whose classmates all call her an “angel.” Not only is she a star athlete with perfect grades—she’s also drop-dead gorgeous. Amane, an average guy and self-admitted slob, has never thought much of the divine beauty, despite attending the same school. Everything changes, however, when he happens to see Mahiru sitting alone in a park during a rainstorm. Thus begins the strange relationship between this incredibly unlikely pair!
