#Tesla’s More Affordable EVs Could Gain This Premium Butt-Cooling Feature – Review Geek

While many people think all Tesla’s have premium features like heated and ventilated seats, that’s not the case. While select luxury models, including the Model X, do, some of Tesla’s more affordable EVs don’t, at least not yet.

Tesla recently updated its Model 3 and Model Y owner’s manual, and several vehicle owners on Reddit were quick to notice the addition of ventilated seats coming to new Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Meaning the company’s more affordable EVs could soon gain the popular butt-cooling feature.

Keep in mind that this could be a mistake, but it makes sense for Tesla to slowly introduce many of its once-premium features to mass-market cars like the Model 3 and Model Y, especially with the competition heating up. In the updated manual, the Climate Control section of the Model 3 and Model Y now references heated and ventilated (or cooled) seats.

Furthermore, as shown above, the manual has updated imagery and graphics for the feature, showing both cars would have a dedicated cooling button next to the heating function. This reveals a yet-to-be-released feature in clear pictures. So while it could be a mistake, the updated visuals lend credence to this being an upcoming feature.

It’s worth noting that this wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen Tesla introduce or activate features later down the road. For example, in 2018, Tesla dropped a software update that enabled rear heated seats on the Model 3. Additionally, we’ve seen Tesla make massive changes to the Cybertruck to keep up with the competition. Making a change like ventilated seats to its more affordable cars could be one more example of that.

At this point, it’s unclear if Tesla’s updated owner’s manual teasing new features was a mistake or if it’s a sign of things to come. Either way, stay tuned as we’ll know more soon.
