The I’m a Behemoth, an S-Ranked Monster, but Mistaken for a Cat, I Live as an Elf Girl’s Pet anime adaptation has received a teaser trailer and its first key visual, which serve to highlight the titular cat-like monster and the main humanoid characters who will appear in the story.
The anime has also received a 2025 release date and main staff details. Tetsuo Hirakawa (YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World) is directing the anime, which is a Zero-G and Saber Works co-production. Tomoyuki Abe (Kimi wa Kanata) and Kanichi Kato (The Eminence in Shadow) are the character designer and series composer, respectively.
Additionally, two new cast additions were revealed, which are Tomori Kusunoki as Vulcan and Hitomi Ueda as Stella.
I’m a Behemoth, an S-Ranked Monster, but Mistaken for a Cat, I Live as an Elf Girl’s Pet was originally a web novel by Nozomi Ginyoku, which made its debut on Shousetsuka ni Narou in 2017 and later on Kakuyomu in 2018. A light novel series illustrated by Mitsuki Yano and published under Micro Magazine’s GC Novels label began in 2018 and has two volumes as of the same year.
The anime is based on the Hakusensha-published manga adaptation by Taro Shinonome, which began serialization in Young Animal Arashi in March 2018 and transferred to Young Animal in July 2018 following the end of the former magazine. There are 11 tankoubon volumes as of March 2024.

Yen Press describes the manga as:
A proud knight, slain in battle, finds himself alive once more-reincarnated in the body of a fearsome behemoth. As if he wasn’t confused enough by this turn of events, apparently behemoth cubs look exactly like adorable kittens?! Even if the rest of the world sees him as soft and cuddly, he has the honor of a noble warrior and the strength of an unstoppable S-ranked monster, both of which will be put to the test as he fights to protect the beautiful elf who has taken him as her pet!
