#Taylor Swift announces re-recorded Fearless album with six new songs

After sharing her plans to re-record her first six albums back in 2019, Taylor Swift has announced the release of the re-recorded version of her 2008 sophomore album Fearless. Swift made the announcement on Good Morning America, where she also revealed the album’s artwork. In addition to updated versions of the album’s original songs, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) will also feature six previously unreleased tracks written by Swift between the ages of 13 and 16.

While the album comes out this spring, a new rendition of her hit song “Love Story” is set to drop on Thursday at midnight. A snippet of the song was previously featured in a Ryan Reynolds-directed commercial for Match.com.

Two years ago, Swift expressed her disappointment in the sale of her pre-Reputation catalog by Big Machine Records to talent manager Scooter Braun. He has since sold Swift’s masters to a private equity company. “I learned about Scooter Braun’s purchase of my masters as it was announced to the world,” she said in a statement back in 2019. “All I could think about was the incessant, manipulative bullying I’ve received at his hands for years.”

Wanting to regain control of her earlier work, Swift vowed to re-do her back catalog. In 2018, JoJo re-recorded her debut and sophomore albums after a decade-long dispute with former label Blackground that kept her early music off streaming services entirely.

In 2020, Swift released two studio albums, August’s folklore, and December’s evermore, executive produced alongside The National’s Aaron Dessner.
