There is no doubt some actors go through many hours of makeup to transform into some of the best-loved characters on film, but it can be just as much a grueling task to remove all that makeup at the end of the day. Zoe Saldana is no stranger to a hefty makeup routine when playing Gamora in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies, and she recently shared a post comparing her epic makeup removal wash down to a video of a bathing rodent. No one said it had to be all glamour in the movie business, did they?

As a fan-favorite Marvel character, it looked like Saldana’s time as the green-skinned character was at an end when Gamora was sacrificed by her father, Thanos, in exchange for the Soul Stone during Avengers: Infinity War, but thanks to some time trickery, the character is back in the MCU and will be seen in Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 next year. That means a whole new round of hours in the makeup chair, which she has been happy to share multiple images of via her Instagram account.

In her latest posts, the 43-year-old shared a close-up shot of her face, commenting, “Gamora felt cute! #nofilter,” and followed that up with a video of herself drinking a smoothie for her “3:30 am call time for work.” However, it was the follow-up video of her makeup removal that proved to be the most amusing of her posts, considering she compared herself to a viral video of a rat washing itself to an upbeat music number. She captioned it, “Bye #gamora. See you next week.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be one of the final movies of Phase 4 of the MCU, and there is a lot of speculation as to which members of the Guardians team will make it out alive. It is well known that James Gunn has no current plans to do any more work in the MCU, and actors such as Dave Bautista have hinted this will be the end of their run in the franchise as well. Reports have called the third Guardians movie a “Gamora and Nebula” movie, which would probably make sense considering the Gamora that is now in the MCU has not gone through the same character arch as Nebula, Star-Lord and the rest of the team.

There are still very few plot details known for the movie, but with Marvel heading deep into the multiverse, it would make sense that the film will at least touch on the various universes that have been opening up in the Marvel timeline. James Gunn has recently given a vague update on the movie, saying that it is “different from what people are going to expect.” That would not be difficult as most people don’t have any idea what can be expected of Gunn’s upcoming work, which includes the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special coming before Christmas this year.

“I’m excited too. It’s fun,” the director told Collider. “The holiday special is… I’m almost jealous of it, even though I wrote it because people freak out so much on how much they love the script for the holiday special that I’m almost like, ‘Well, wait. I’ve got this movie here I’ve been working on for two years. You love the holiday special that I literally wrote in a very short amount of time.’ But, it is really funny and really good.”
