#Grimes posts photo of son reading book about space

Like father, like son.

Grimes, 32, has shared a rare photo of X Æ A-Xii, her son with Elon Musk.

In a now-expired image in the Canadian musician’s Instagram Story this week, X Æ A-Xii is shown reading a children’s book about space. In the shot — which shows the back of the 7-month-old’s head — the book is turned to a page about the Hubble Space Telescope.

While the tot is making one small step in his journey to learning to read, his dad has been busy pioneering space travel. In November, a team of four NASA astronauts successfully reached the International Space Station aboard a ship from Musk’s company SpaceX. The flight was a historic venture, marking the second time in a decade astronauts were sent into orbit from American soil.

It marked a big step for commercial space travel in a number of ways, including the first time a Baby Yoda plush toy ever stowed away on a spacecraft.

The internet was quick to mock Musk and Grimes’ bizarre name choice for X Æ A-Xii following his May birth, welcoming the couple’s first kid with a deluge of memes.

The Tesla CEO and pop star have posted few images of the baby, especially by celebrity standards, although Musk, 49, did tweet one when announcing his birth.

The absurdly wealthy couple were forced to change the child’s name to its current, similar state after finding that his original title, X Æ A-12, didn’t comply with California law. (Under the state constitution, names cannot use symbols other than the 26 alphabetical characters.)

“Roman numerals. Looks better tbh,” Grimes wrote of the change.

While appearing to be a series of random letters and characters, the name is actually an extremely cerebral and specific acronym, Grimes has explained.

In addition to X Æ A-Xii, Musk has five sons with ex-wife Justine Wilson.
