Well, here’s a surprise! Embracer Group has entered into an agreement to acquire Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal, Square Enix Montréal, & a catalog of IPs which includes Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, Legacy of Kain & more than 50 back-catalog games from Square Enix Holdings! This is a huge deal, and what makes it even more unbelievable is that they got it for only $300 Million.

According to Embracer Group,

From Square Enix’s point of view, Square Enix says the transaction will enable the launch of new businesses by moving forward with investments in fields including blockchain, AI, and the cloud. How they’ll do it is anyone’s guess!

So yeah, I hope that we’ll see more from these projects, especially the ones that haven’t seen light in quite some time!
