“#Kyoto Animation's Violet Evergarden the Movie Pushes Past 1.5 Billion Yen at Box Office”
Despite the current behemoth at the Japanese box office, the official Twitter account Kyoto Animation's Violet Evergarden the Movie, which opened on September 18, announced that the anime film has exceeded 1.5 billion yen (US$14.3 million) at the Japanese box office after being in cinemas for 38 days, nearly double that of last years Violet Evergarden Side Story: Eternity and the Auto Memories Doll.

With 1.5 billion yen in total gross, the number of ticket sales for Violet Evergarden the Movie was around 1.11 million, and the anime film still remains the 3rd highest-grossing anime film from Kyoto Animation, behind Naoko Yamada's A Silent Voice and K-ON! the Movie.
To celebrate the milestone, a special talk will be held with director Taichi Ishidate, sound director Yota Tsuruoka, and the voice actors for Violet (Yui Ishikawa) and Gilbert (Daisuke Namikawa) at MOVIX Kyoto with live viewings in cinemas around Japan, though no date is set as of yet.
