#You Can Watch These Funny Movies for Free on YouTube

Through the good, the bad, and the flat-out ugly, comedy movies somehow insert themselves into viewers lives as the perfect best friend. Whether going through the motions behind a level-10 breakup (code for never wanting to see your ex again), or those less anticipated and dreaded bad days. Not one person is exempt from going through tough times but thankfully comedy movies lift our spirits while also reminding us that everything will work out for the best. From rom-coms, to full-fledged raunchy or obscure flicks, the feel-good aura is apparently the essential cure for any heartbreak experienced.
As YouTube‘s streaming service expands significantly, some of the most beloved flicks have seamlessly taken the streaming service by storm, ever since YouTube began legally streaming thousands upon thousands of movies for free, with advertisements. With its eclectic range of content and multitude of character diversity, YouTube has provided a format for original classics to live on through emerging generations, in addition to present-day releases. We highlighted seven of the funniest comedies with import underlying messages that are now streaming on YouTube for free.

5 Clue

When spilling your own tea as a form of freedom and self-expression goes horrendously wrong. Six blackmail victims are each invited to an isolated mansion by a man who seemingly knows a dark secret from each of their pasts. On arrival, each is given a pseudonym drawn from the game Cluedo (or Clue) before being introduced to the blackmailer. When the lights are promptly cut off and the blackmailer is shockingly revealed as dead, the guests have to uncover the murderer before becoming the next victim. A cult classic, featuring the great Tim Curry (from other cult classic, The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and a large ensemble of great character actors, Clue is some of the most fun you’ll have for free on YouTube.

4 But I’m A Cheerleader

Long before Orange is the New Black and Russian Doll, Natasha Lyonne was doing amazing work in films like Slums of Beverly Hills and But I’m a Cheerleader. She plays a teenage cheerleader whose parents ship her off to an abusive “conversion” camp when they believe her to be a lesbian. There, she meets an ebullient, iconoclastic group of great people and learns to discover herself in Jamie Babbit’s literally colorful, energetic, and hilarious film.

3 The Longshots

Who doesn’t love a remarkable comeback story, placing the central character on a path toward reinvention and redemption? Down-on-his-luck, former football player Curtis Plummer (Ice Cube) becomes the new coach of an Illinois Pop Warner football team. Aside from the intense football scenes, the plot is very efficient and well-scripted, and just fun to watch. For those girlfriends who are always forced to watch football games and movies with their boyfriends, The Longshots is a win-win for both sides. With his niece Jasmine (Keke Palmer) selected as the team’s quarterback, Curtis has a chance to turn his life around and get himself back into his life-long passions tied to the game.

2 Delirious

A reminder to never bump your head unexpectedly, because the effects can sometimes be more unimaginable and disastrous than anyone could ever expect. Soap opera writer Jack Gable (John Candy) gets hit on the head and somehow wakes up in the television show he’s been writing. Jack quickly discovers that he can control the events in his new reality through his typewriter but soon is hit with the reminder that not everything can be controlled by him alone. The late, great Candy is around the top of his game here in this delightful and inventive classic.

1 Orange County

The 2002 American comedy movie Orange County starring Colin Hanks and Jack Black details the events of a smart and wealthy high-school student with his heart set on being accepted into Stanford, Shaun Brumder (Colin Hanks). Brumder is quickly heartbroken once his guidance counselor accidentally sends the wrong transcript with his college application. Brumder basically spends the remainder of the film attempting to prove he’s an exceptional student with a terrific grade-point average. Orange County is a delightful, chill, and honestly moving comedy movie.
