Located in the Sierra Nevada Mountains northwest of Yosemite National Park, Calaveras Big Trees State Park is California’s largest state park, with over 50,000 acres of forest and groves that were once home to some of the largest trees on Earth.

You’ll want to check out the General Sherman Tree—the world’s largest tree by volume (3.14 million cubic feet) and height (275 feet).
