The My Hero Academia TV anime adaptation began airing in 2016, with the most recent sixth season airing from October 2022 to March 2023. Crunchyroll, Ani-One Asia, bilibili, and iQIYI are among the streaming platforms releasing the show internationally outside Japan.
A fourth My Hero Academia anime film, My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next, will premiere in Japan on August 2, 2024.
Kenji Nagasaki (returning, director of the first three seasons) is the chief director of the seventh season, with Naomi Nakayama (Koikimo; Orange chief director; My Hero Academia Episode 78, 83, and 87 storyboard artist, My Hero Academia Episode 64 director) as director, Yoshihiko Umakoshi (returning) and Hitomi Odashima (returning) as character designers, Yuki Hayashi (returning) as music composer. Bones is handling the animation production for the series.

Kohei Horikoshi’s original superhero action manga series has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since July 7, 2014. Forty tankobon volumes have been released as of April 2024, with a 41st volume set for release on August 2, 2024. VIZ Media releases the manga series in English for North America.
Crunchyroll describes the synopsis of the season seven as:
Society has crumbled, along with its faith in heroes, with the all-out battle causing great damage. With the heroes defeated, Shigaraki, All For One, and others plot their takeover. As the final battle draws near, Deku, along with his U.A. classmates and other heroes, including one from America, come together to face this onslaught. Will it be enough to restore peace?
