The 38-year-old victim was standing on the southbound F platform at the Lexington Avenue/63rd Street station around 9:15 a.m. Monday when the assailant approached, displayed a knife and suddenly slashed him in the chest and right hand, cops said.
The victim was able to grab the folding knife from his attacker before the man took off, police sources said.
He then walked into City MD further downtown, on West 14th Street near Fifth Avenue, for treatment.
He was moved to Mount Sinai Beth Israel, where he was treated and released.
The attacker remained at large Tuesday.
